About
Since launching this website over a year ago I have, on several occasions, been asked what it ‘is’ or what it is trying to be. Those who asked were entirely justified to do so. I have a pitiful love of the tangential. In my first year, I wrote creatively, persuasively and factually. I wrote about, books, language, music and sport; some of the work was personal, some of it was theoretical. There was little consistency. A good blog should fit neatly into one clear category. But this isn’t a good blog.
Being forced to categorise myself, I would call this an ‘alternative’ current affairs blog. I make it my purpose to either deal with subject matters neglected by the mainstream media, or to offer a so-far unoffered opinion regarding major stories. Like Alasdair Gray’s Lanark I will strive to find the light, but no doubt end up watching the world collapse from a hilltop vantage point. At least I see that it is collapsing though. I hope that my future posts might convince you of this too.
Enjoy.
